Hi 5.3 and 5.4! Mr C, Paula, Beckie, Wendy have been working hard to find some activities for you to do each week while you are not at school.
Theme of the week is ‘lifeskills’
Choose a task from the menu. Try to do at least threetasks. You can even do the same tasks more than once if you want to. There are lots of things you can do on your own or with a brother or sister or Mom or Dad. Get your family involved if you can!
If you can please ask someone to take a photo of you doing the task and send the photo to us on WEDUC, or, email to Mr C (address below) If you want to type any information on what you did on this sheet you can. There are a few questions on some tasks in the lifeskills section.
- Cosmic kids yoga on youtube is great! The teacher, Jamie, retells classic tales and incorporates simple yoga movements to go along with it. You will need some physical support but the movements are easily adaptable to do from a sitting position.
If you return your work regularly you will get a reward when we return to school. Remember as always just try your best. We hope you enjoy them.• Lifeskills tasks
Check with your parents in case you need support with these tasks. Please ask someone to take a photo of you doing these tasks. You can do as many as you want to.a) Make a piece of toast for you or someone in your family. Can you cut it into halves?

How did it make you feel?• Family Meditation Getting in touch with your senses.
Gather the family in a place where there are no distractions. (Turn off that TV!) Choose one person to lead the meditation. Everyone takes three deep breaths. Then the leader asks everyone in the group to notice five things they can see.
After that the leader tells everyone to close their eyes and and notice four things they can hear, then three things they can feel, two things they can smell, one thing they can taste. If you’re the leader make sure you give everyone enough time for everyone to think and answer. Then take three more deep breaths and let everyone sit quietly for one minute. • Get moving!
Take some time everyday to move around or do some stretches. Its really good for you. Don’tworry if you can’t do all of the yoga poses.

- When it is sunny outside why don’t you sit in the garden with a grown up and have a chat about your senses: What can you see, what colours and shapes? How about smells? And what can you hear, birds, people talking or vehicles? Can you feel some different textures?
- Do you know your shapes? Watch the song on the link below about shapes.
Look around your house – what shapes can you see? Are there more of some shapes than others? Play a shape guessing game with a grown up or relative – use your finger to draw a shape on their backs…can they guess the shape you are drawing?
- Do you know the story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears? If you have a copy of the book then read it with a grown up or you will be able to find a version on youtube. After you have read it think about following things together:
Discuss what has happened. How do you think the characters felt? Can you imitate baby bear’s voice and say how sad he was that all his breakfast had disappeared?
There are so many mathematical opportunities in this story. Talk about who is the tallest, shortest, oldest etc. How many bowls were there? Can you find 3 different sized bowls in your kitchen and allocate them to a bear. You might use your cuddly toys to represent characters. Can you find 3 spoons, 3 chairs? Place one bowl next to one spoon, next to one bear.
This story has a lot of descriptive words such as hot, cold, lumpy, soft and hard. Why not go around your home and see what items you can find to create a sensory game. You can sort these items out into their properties. Compare and contrast the different items against each other. What other words can you use to describe texture? What could you find that is smooth? What could you find that is fluffy?
