Pupil Premium is extra funding for schools from the government, to help them improve the attainment and outcomes of their most disadvantaged students. The pupil premium is allocated to children who are known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), Service Children and those who are looked after or have previously been looked after. This will also include pupils eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure).

Children must receive free early education in order to attract EYPP funding. They do not have to take up the full 570 hours of early education they are entitled to in order to get EYPP.
