Non verbal drama:

Open Theatre use a non verbal physical theatre practice specialising in working with young people with learning disabilities. Over the next few weeks they are sharing their practice with parents to follow with their child at home. The practitioners from Open Theatre are familiar to pupils as they have worked with them at our school in non verbal drama sessions. Enjoy!

  2. Good Days and Bad Days During Lockdown –  A wordless booklet with scenes from existing Beyond Words stories looking at what makes a ‘good day’ and what makes a ‘bad day’.Scenes address social distancing, lockdown, mental health and daily routines.

Under the Sea Project

The topic this term is all about water so a story has been created based on exploring things under the sea. This is a project that should last you until the end of summer term. We would normally do a PMLD Extravaganza show to perform to the whole school. However in light of current circumstances we thought it might be nice for you to explore your own drama. There are ideas of things that you could make, props, puppets, costumes etc. You can use plastic bottles, cereal boxes anything that you can find in the home to make props with. There should be something to explore  for each slide. If you can find things you have at home for them to explore that are water based, or you may have sea creature toys that you can put in a tray of water. The power point is just merely a guide line you don’t have to follow it all. Feel free to make it your own with whatever resources you have at home. I have put some music links to go with each slide. Feel free to choose other music would fit best for your drama. We look forward to seeing/hearing about your end product.
