Update 17th July

And it’s goodbye from me and hello from Simon ….

Dear Parents and Carers,

School is very busy today, we have almost all staff back in school and everyone is pleased to be back. We are all very busy making sure that school will be ready for a return in September. We are aware that some parents will be very anxious about this prospect. Can I assure you that we want to continue to work with you if you have concerns, we will not be putting you under pressure or making unfair demands.

This term has been very difficult for so many people, and I am sure it has been the same with all of our families. Our staff have done their very best and I hope we have been effective in helping you during this time.

I am very pleased to be able to tell you Peter Keenan is starting to make progress, he is starting rehabilitation and his daughter has told ne that he is in good spirits. He will be facing a long recovery period, but we are all really hoping that he will be able to make a full recovery in time.

I hope you have a good summer, keep safe and take care, and now over to Simon …

Dear Parents and Carers,

I have dropped in to Wilson Stuart today and it was lovely to see some familiar staff faces and also some new ones, but what is really clear is that the school is missing the heart beat provided by your amazing children. I will be finishing off my role as Interim Headteacher at Mayfield School in the next couple of weeks and then I will be getting stuck into catching up on what has changed at Wilson Stuart in the 2 years I have been gone.

I cannot wait to start in September and make this amazing school even better, because as you all know, ‘Better Never Ends!’

It will be an absolute honour being responsible for delivering an outstanding education for your children and it is a role that I will give everything I have got to.

When we know more about the COVID situation and are in a position to meet in the new academic year, I look forward to seeing you all in person, but until then, have a great summer and we look forward to welcoming your children back in September.

Kind regards,

Simon Harris

(Interim Executive Headteacher)
