Latest update Coronavirus

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you and your families continue to remain well. The Easter holiday did not provide the usual opportunities for us all to find rest and relaxation, but I hope you are all bearing up in these very difficult times. We have had some staff changes in school after Easter. Both Mrs Mason and Mrs Ratcliffe have now retired, this was planned since September. We had organised several events to mark their retirement, but these have had to be postponed due to the present crisis. Mrs Mason has worked at Wilson Stuart for 23 years and Mrs Ratcliffe 18 years. They have both been fantastic members of our staff team, we will be celebrating their outstanding contribution to school and giving them the send-off they deserve when this situation is over. They have both offered to continue to provide any support that would help in the current crisis, so even though retired, their dedication and commitment to school continues, for which we are extremely grateful.

We have made new appointments to fill their positions. Liz Dean has been appointed as Head of Secondary, and two new members of staff have been appointed as deputies in our primary and secondary departments, Liz Morgan and Tom Elmes. In addition, Jo Bowen is now Head of Sixth Form, Peter Keenan is now our Deputy DSL and Kim Heather Roberts is our new Primary Literacy Coordinator. I am confident all of these new appointments will make great contribution to our staff team and the success of our school. We are all looking forward to getting back to normal and to begin working together.

Many of our school staff worked over the holidays both in and out of school to continue to provide support to students and families. I hope this has helped you. We will continue to do everything we can to help. Please contact us if there is anything you feel we can support you with.

I am really hopeful that we will see the end in sight regarding coronavirus over the next few weeks and we can get back to normal when it is safe for us all to do so. We will keep in touch regarding any developments.

Keep safe and kind regards,

Steve Hughes
