History is an exciting subject with pupils learning about issues affecting people in the UK, Europe and the World that happened in the past. Pupils are encouraged to develop an inquisitive mind and ask questions and form opinions about historical data. The study of historical artefacts helps pupils to widen their knowledge of past events. Pupil experiences are also enhanced and great learning takes place through field visits to local museums, National Trust Historic Houses or castles.

At KS3 the pupils follow the National Curriculum for History.

At KS4 pupils follow the AQA GCSE History 8145 syllabus and the WJEC Entry Pathways Humanities syllabus at Entry Level 2 and Entry Level 3.
