On Wednesday 6th March we hosted an amazing performance of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ as part of our World Book Day celebrations. The audience were taken on a journey along the yellow brick road into the land of Oz: we were treated to a colourful and interactive show, which included lots of songs the children recognised. It was brilliant to see lots of the staff and children dressed up as characters from the show or as their favourite literary charcters.
Alongside the performance some of our classes also had the opportunity to work with a drama practitioner from the OpenRep partnership for a non verbal/physical drama session themed around ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and were also treated to a sensory story of this literary classic.
We had a great day and are already planning for World Book Day next year 2020!
