On Thursday 18th July, some of our students performed at the second Special Schools Cluster Concert, along with students from 3 other Special Schools. The day was run by Services for Education (Music Service) and it was another huge success.
The day started with the opportunity to take part in a workshop, before rehearsing for the concert in the afternoon.
Each school had a 10 minute performing slot and our families and special guests were invited to attend. The concert finished with an amazing performance by special guest artist, Derek Paravicini. This amazing musician was born three and a half months prematurely, he is blind and has severe autism. But with perfect pitch, innate talent and a lot of practice, he became an acclaimed concert pianist by the age of 10 and has made music his profession.
We had a truly inspiring day and the pupils did themselves very proud indeed.
