Advice is available to class teachers and SENCO's to assist them in developing Individual Education Plans for children experiencing difficulties in a range of areas due to motor impairment. The list on the left gives an idea of the areas covered. We will be developing links to further pages suggesting ideas, resources and strategies in the future.
Help at School Action and School Action Plus
Consultative visits, information booklets and in-service training sessions will be used to disseminate the above information and advice. Advice on classroom organisation, methods and resources for supporting children with motor difficulties forms an integral part of the support provided to schools.
Help with Statutory Assessment
Where pupils are moving on to statutory assessment, Outreach service teachers may be involved in contributing to the proposed provision plan. Close links are maintained with parents and any other agencies who are involved with the pupil.
Help for pupils with statements
The Outreach Service will continue to provide support for pupils with significant motor difficulties for whom a statement of special educational needs has been deemed to be appropriate.
As well as outlining the kind of support given to schools by the Outreach Service, this part of the site contains areas of specific advice under each of the headings in the menu on the left.
