Forest school

A few lucky children in our primary department had their first taste of Forest Schools sessions this week. The programme, which will start fully in the new school year, aims to help children develop by learning from and within the natural environment. We constructed fantastic artwork with our expert instructor Alicia, and next year look forward to developing our Forest Schools area, learning about the trees, plants and animals who share our school, developing our use of tools, finding out about how we can eat outside, and even practising willow craft and lighting fires! We are all very excited about it – look out for updates on the school website and on our Twitter feed in the new year.
